1. What is this year’s scientific program?
This year's conference will consist of eight sessions:
- Global perspectives on epidemiology, national considerations and classification;
- ENETS Tumor Board - Discussion of clinical cases;
- Difficult management problems in symptomatic NET;
- Recent advances in basic science applicable to NET disease;
- Biomarkers - Lessons from other cancers;
- Critical review of current non-surgical treatment - efficacy, side effects, cost-effectiveness and quality of life;
- Bronchial carcinoids - Similarities and differences to GEP-NETs; and
- Top news in NETs, 2010-2011

Participants can also enroll for the ENETS Post-Graduate Course, scheduled for 9 March 2011, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Lisboa Congress Center. This is a ticketed session and the cost per person is € 100. To register for the course, please click here.
In addition, there will be early morning “Meet the Professor” lectures. PLEASE NOTE: These are ticketed sessions that must be registered and paid for in advance. Conference participants registered for a session will receive entrance tickets in their conference wallets. There will be no on-site registrations for these lectures. Entry costs € 20 per session:

3. When does the meeting start?
Conference registration (conference material pick-up) begins on Wednesday, 9 March 2011, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Registration then continues on Thursday, 10 March, at 7:30 a.m. and runs until 9:00 a.m., which is when the conference opens. Registration tables will be set up at the entrance area of the conference venue.

4. Is there a registration fee? Is there a deadline to register?
There are registration fees for the conference which cover all conference materials, lunches, coffee breaks and participation at the Welcome Reception at 6:00 p.m. on 9 March 2011. Students who can provide proof of their university matriculation can attend the conference for free, as can journalists who can provide proof of their professional status. Please make sure you have registered with the ENETS Office in Berlin.
Please note the registration fees and deadlines:
• Early registration fee – before 30 November 2010: € 500.00
• Late registration fee – after 30 November 2010: € 550.00
• Exhibitor day pass for pharmaceutical representatives: € 250.00
• Discounted fee for registered nurses: € 250.00
• Members of the press and university-matriculated students: Free entry.
Students, journalists and nurses please note: Students must be able to provide ENETS with proof of their university matriculation and journalists must provide ENETS with proof of their professional status. ENETS encourages young researchers and physicians (age limit: 40) to apply for an ENETS Travel Grant. Each grant is worth € 1,500 and must be used toward travel and registration expenses related to the conference. To apply for a grant, please click here. The deadline to apply is 20 December 2010.
Please be aware that the general registration fee DOES NOT cover travel to and from Lisbon, nor does it cover lodging for during the conference.

no later than 11 February 2011. No exceptions will be made. The amount of registration fees remitted, minus a € 50 administrative charge, will be refunded after the ENETS Annual Conference. 5. How do I register for the conference?
Non-sponsored delegates must register here, via the ENETS website. PLEASE NOTE: Delegates may be sponsored by a pharmaceutical firm, in which case, the firm must register you with ENETS for the conference. Please contact your national affiliate for details.

6. When and where is the Welcome Reception?
The Welcome Reception will take place on 9 March 2011, Wednesday, and begins at 6:00 p.m. in Hall IV of the Lisboa Congress Center.

7. Will there be abstract sessions? What about poster prizes?
There will be two abstract sessions during the conference – one for clinical practice and one for basic research related to cancer biology. The conference organizers will also collect all abstracts – regardless of the authors’ age or level of academic degree - in a booklet to be distributed to all conference attendees.
The conference abstract review committee will select, prior to the conference, three clinical research abstracts and three basic research abstracts for oral presentation. Authors for these presentations will be contacted by mid-February. The presenters chosen for oral lectures will be barred from also showing their work as a poster. Abstract authors not selected for oral presentations will be invited to present their work as a poster. For poster guidelines, please click here.
The best three abstracts for clinical practice and the best three for basic research will be awarded monetary prizes, “Young Investigator Awards”, in the amount of € 1,500; € 1,000; and € 500. Prizes will be awarded to investigators under age 40. These prizes will be announced during the conference.

8. Can I get CME credits for the meeting?
ENETS is currently applying to the European Union of Medical Specialists, or UEMS, in Brussels, for continuing medical education (CME) points for the Lisbon conference. Please continue to check back here for confirmation of accreditation.

9. Who can attend the conference? Can you help me with a visa?
The conference is open to all ENETS members and to physicians and researchers working in a field related to neuroendocrine tumor disease. Please see question 4 on this FAQ page regarding registration fees.
ENETS can provide participants who wish to attend the conference, but need a travel visa, with a letter of support. To request this letter, please first register for the conference. On the registration form, you can indicate that you need the letter.
